Acknowledgement of Country: As we gather as a community, we think of the traditional custodians of this land, the Pangerang People of the Yorta Yorta Nation. We would also like to pay respect to elders past and present. As it was along the banks of the Ovens and Kings Rivers that Pangerang People lived harmoniously for thousands of years. We continue to walk towards reconciliation and recognise the continuing connection to Country of the Aboriginal people.
MARY GARLICK
has lived in a Wangaratta for nearly 40 years, and has 3 children, Adrienne Jones, Damien and Justin, and 6 beautiful grandsons, 2 , Liam and Riley Jones attend Galen College, and Noah Robinson, is at St Bernards.
She was for many years involved with Catholic education as a Catechist, but more recently her interests has revolved around her own age group, and the residents of St Catherine’s. Parish life and the future of the Church is very important for her, and "with the number of Priests on the decline, helping out and spreading the Gospel has become more important", she said.
